On 4 July 2024, PKK militants carried out attacks via 'aerial vehicles' (presumably via armed drones or paramotors) targeting the Turkish army forces in Sergele (Sargali) area in Al Amadiya district of Duhok. PKK militants also attacked Turkish forces via unspecified heavy weapons. HPG (PKK) claimed a total of 5 Turkish soldiers were killed in the attacks but this was not confirmed by other sources (PKK's claim over fatalities among Turkish forces coded as 0).
