A teenager was found badly injured outdoors in Bagarmossen, south of Stockholm. He later died at the hospital, according to the police, who have not yet arrested any suspects.

Fredrika, who lives in the area, was on her way to work when she was met by the police cordons.

- I haven't had time to digest this, says Fredrika.

At 23.23 on Tuesday, the police were alerted to suspicious shooting in the area in southern Stockholm.

- We receive that several shots were fired. When we arrive four minutes later, we find a badly injured young man outside, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson for the Stockholm police region.

When the police got there, members of the public had started to give first aid. Soon after, paramedics take over and take the person to hospital.

At 04.42 the police announced that the person, who was between 15 and 18 years old, died in the hospital as a result of the injuries. Relatives have been notified.

At 2:40 a.m. there was still no arrest, according to the police.

At seven o'clock on Wednesday morning, the technical investigation was complete but the roadblocks remained.

- We will have an increased police presence in order to create security for residents in the area, says Per Fahlström, the police's press spokesperson.

The incident is classified as murder.
