A 25-year-old man has died after a shooting in Strömmensberg in Gothenburg on Thursday. During the night, a teenage boy was arrested and later arrested on suspicion of murder.

It was shortly after 19:00 on Thursday evening that the police received several calls about a suspicious shooting in Strömmensberg in Gothenburg.

A 25-year-old man was then found with a gunshot wound and later died in hospital from his injuries. Next of kin have been notified, the police say.

Two shootings on the same day

The shooting is the second to take place in the Gothenburg area during Thursday. During the morning there was a shooting in Partille , after which two people could be arrested.

- We are now investigating the motive and background to the events, as well as the question of whether they are connected to each other. Investigations are ongoing with, among other things, interrogations and various technical investigations, says prosecutor Per-Erik Rinsell, who is the head of the preliminary investigation, in a press release.

The police believe that the murder and the shooting have connections to a conflict within the network criminal environment in Gothenburg, they write on their website.
