IED
IED event in United Kingdom on Thu 7th July 2005
7th July 2005
On the morning of the 7th July 2005, four coordinated bombs exploded in a terrorist attack that shocked London and killed 52 people. Martine was travelling to work on a tube train when one of the homemade bombs detonated. Martine was severely injured by the blast but survived due to the help of Liz, an off-duty police officer who rushed to aid the injured survivors. As part of our UOKM8 campaign, we asked Martine to tell her story into a mirror - not realising Liz was there listening on the other side.
