The French company AUDIMMO notified nuclear security officials at the ASN on June 10, 2013, that a radioactive device was stolen from one of its vehicles in the city of Clermont-Ferrand. On the May 28, 2013, thieves broke into a company car while it was parked temporarily, and stole a XRF analyzer. The device, which is used to detect lead in paint, contains a CO57 source with an initial radioactivity level of 444 MBq.
