On September 25, 2014, the Virginia Radioactive Materials Program (RMP) was notified over the discovery of a static eliminator bar in Hedgesville, West Virginia. Following its acquisition by NRC inspectors, it was discovered though NRD LLC Records that the static eliminator bar had been sold to O’Sullivan Films in Winchester, Virginia, and that O’Sullivan Films had also bought two other static eliminator bars. After contacting O’Sullivan Films, the company replied to the Virginia RMP in a letter that that it “has not possessed these static eliminator bars and found no documentation that supports O'Sullivan Films having possessed, disposed of or returned these devices." There is no information available on the location of the remaining static eliminators.
