On May 15, 2015, a truck with scrap metal loaded in Veles was found to have a surface dose rate of 84 µSv/h. The source was found to be three decommissioned EU152 lightning rods with a combined surface dose rate of 10.4 mSv/h. The scrap metal shipment was intended for export to Slovenia.
