On March 6, 2015, 22 lead containers of radioactive CO60 were stolen from a warehouse in Poznan, Poland. The material was housed in containers made from Ps-5b and PRJ-100, weighing between 45kg and 70kg. The same warehouse was broken into in February 2015, at which time thieves stole a metric ton of lead nuggets. Four individuals were arrested on March 10 in conjunction with both the February and March thefts. According to an update by the IAEA on April 13, 2015, 8 radioactive sources have been recovered, 7 are still missing, and 7 of those originally reported stolen are still intact inside the warehouse. The individuals who were arrested dismantled the shielding containers around the Cobalt in order to sell it for scrap.
