On March 12, 2013, a Japanese company, JSR Life Sciences Corporation, (Research and Development, manufacture and sale of life science products, established in February 2012) delivered a particulate diameter measurement device that installed sealed americium 241 to an industrial waste collector and transporter. The device was falsely disposed by a final treatment trader after being treated at an intermediate trader. The company reported to the Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) on September 19, 2013. NRA ordered the company to try its utmost to find the disposed device.
