On June 24, 2013, a Portland, OR portal monitor detected radioactive material in a scrap metal shipment from Missoula, MT. The Oregon Department of Radiation Protection Services first received notification of the material. The radioactive item (6000 cpm) remains unidentified but is suspected to be on the left side of the truck. The shipment is being returned to Montana, and there are no reports of any radiation exposure following the incident.
