On June 03 2014, the Nuclear Security Authority (ASN) was informed of the theft of a portable device used in the research of Lead in paints by société C2i énergie, an infrastructure diagnostics and evaluation firm located in Frolois (54), France. The NITON brand device contains radioactive source CD109. On May 31 2014, a technician of the firm stationed his vehicle on public road Nancy (54), where it was broken into. A gray-colored plastic suitcase that contained the portable device was stolen from inside the vehicle.
