On January 9, 2013, The French business, IMMODIAG, informed the French Nuclear Security Agency (ASN) that on January 7, 2013, a technician carrying a radioactive device was robbed and the device is missing. The man was carrying a briefcase containing a NITON-XLp 300 XRF analyzer on a train between Paris and Mantes-la-Jolie. The briefcase was stolen, as the man later noticed. The device which is used for detecting lead in paint, contains a source of CD109 with the level of radioactivity at 1480 MBq on the day of the theft.
