On February 28, 2013, the New Jersey Radioactive Materials Program (RMP) received notification of an international shipping container on a truck at Port Elizabeth with elevated levels of CS137. The FBI, Union City Bomb Squad, Fire Department, EMS, and Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) responded. Investigation of the container found bales of paper and a six-inch object wrapped in cardboard and duct tape. This object, which was determined to be a wire used to bind the paper, was determined to be the source of the elevated levels of CS137.
