On February 19, 2014, the Nuclear Security Authority (ASN) was informed of the disappearance of radioactive source CO57 from the Hospital Center of Lyon Sud, in Rhône Prefecture.This source is regularly used for nuclear medicine purposes; it resembles a pencil attached to a cylindrical base. This type of source does not present any particular risk for people who find themselves within its proximity for a short period of time.
