On June 2, 2015, special inspectors at the Tobol train station in the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan detected high levels of radiation eminating from a boxcar. Upon inspection, it was determined that the car was carrying several dozen tons of zirconium concentrate from Kokshetau to Novorossiysk. The boxcar was immediately quarantined and put on a special rail line so that no one in the surrounding areas would be exposed to radiation. The case is currently under investigation.
