CBRN event in Tierra del Fuego, Ushuaia area, Argentina on Thu 19th June 2014

On June 19 2014, a company by the name of ENOD SRL, which works in pipeline expansions, notified the Civil Defense and local authorities that a metal box containing a radioactive source had been lost in Ushuaia, Argentina. According to police report, the device was lost when an employee of the construction company was driving in a Toyota truck in between the hours of 10:30am and 3:00pm, he later noticed that the box was missing. The shoebox-sized container was found at approximately 5:30pm on the same day by a truck driver in the container loading zone by the entrance to the city. The box seems to show no signs of tampering or alteration.
