The Council for Nuclear Security (CSN) was informed on Thursday May 8 , 2014 that a device used to measure soil density and humidity containing radioactive sources CS137 and AM241/BE was stolen from a parked Ford Transit vehicle in 72-74 San Antonio Avenue in Almendralejo, Spain. Local police found the device on Thursday May 15, 2014 inside a dumpster in Miguel de Carvajal road next to the municipal sports center. The recovered device will remain under the custody of the local police until authorized CSN personnel from Emergency and Guarding Services retrieve it from the station.
