Turkish authories arrested two Georgian nationals at the Tel Abyad border in Akcakale, Sanliurfa province, one man and one woman, crossing on foot into Turkish territory while possessing 1.24kg of Cesium 137 and 48.23 grams of a 'mercury-like substance', along with several precious stones all valued at $2.5 million. The radioactive CS137 source material was confiscated by the Turkish Atomic Energy Authority. A third person, a Turkish national, was brought to court to be tried with the two Georgians. CS137 was contained in 2 long tubes weighing approximately 1.24kg.
