On July 25, 2013, at Opa-Locka Executive Airport, a hazmat team, EPA representatives, and other fire and rescue officials cordoned off a 150-foot perimeter where a 55-gallon drum of Uranium was discovered. Readings of the radiation levels around the drum were low but officials feared the drum could be leaking. The contents of the drum included old, dismantled airplane parts mixed into the U238.
