In October 2015, radioactive materials set aside as contaminated waste were stolen from Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. These items included a bandsaw containing over 500 times the legal limit of radioactive contamination. Federal officials are investigating this theft and several others that have occurred at LANL.
