Specialists from the Rospotrebnadzor Federal Service for the Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare audited several companies involved in the acquisition and sale of scrap metal. Of the 8795 measurements of gamma radiation taken, 16 were found to have radiation levels exceeding the perscribed limits and thus constituted reglatory violations. In all, fines of 62,000 rubles were issued.
