Alabama Radiation Control discovered that it misplaced a generally licensed process gauge in May 2016. It is possible that the device may have been torn apart and sold for scrap in a similar and old plant. The new owners of a newer plant on the site do not have information on the scrap that was sold or the location of the device. The incident remains open and under investigation.
