A radioactive sanitary cloth was found in the waste shipment that De Vizia company had sent to Cagliari, Italy. A new monitoring system picked up the radioactive reading from the cargo, which was a Iodine source typically used in cancer treatments.The authorities will continue to investigate the incident and measures will be put in place to assure that such hazardous materials are sent for proper disposal.
