A package containing an unspecified source of radioactive material was shipped from Egypt to Belgium. Upon receipt of that package it was determined that it was emitting an unusually high level of radioactive material. After isolating the package it was opened and inspected. The inspection revealed that the source had been improperly prepared for shipment and during shipment opened and disperesed radioactive material contaminating the inside of the package. The material was cleaned up and disposed of properly. An investigation is underway to determine if anyone may have come into too close of contact with the package.
