On March 19, 2015, guards at a security checkpoint in the Boryspil International Airport detected higher than normal radiation levels in the luggage of one of the crew members on a Kiev-Frankfurt flight. Inspectors determined that the source of the radiation, which was 10 times higher than the background radiation, was a clock from a MiG-29 that the crew member had acquired in Kiev. He did not realize it was radioactive. The clock was confiscated.
