On April 11, 2015 at the Boryspil airport in Kiev, airport border guards detained a Vietnamese citizen in whose luggage they found a 1984 desk clock that was emitting radiation. The radiation was detected by an automated system which measured the radiation load on the foreigner's luggage. Using a dosimeter, representatives of the environmental service determined that the radiation level of the luggage was 2.5 millisievert per hour at a rate of .3-.5 microsieverts per hour. The Vietnamese citizen stated that he bought the clock at a local market and was planning to fly with it to Moscow. The case was brought to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
