A Humboldt 5001-c moisture/density gauge was stolen from the bed of a technician's parked truck while the technician was in a movie theatre with his family. After leaving the vehicle unattended for an hour and 45 minutes, the technician found that the chains holding the device were cut . He stated that the device container was "probably" locked, but the operating rod for the cesium source was not. The gauge contained 10mCi of CS137 and 40mCi of AM241 sources. The licensee has offered a 400 USD reward for the gauge and the theft is still under investigation.
