CBRN event in Galicia, Ourense area, Spain on Wed 21st August 2013
21st August 2013
FINSA, a chipboard and MDF manufacturer in northwestern Spain, informed the Nuclear Safety Council (CSN) of missing radioactive equipment. It is uncertain how it went missing, whether it was theft or simply misplacement. FINSA has stated that the equipment is from their laboratory and is no bigger than a packet of cigarettes, has all the appropriate radioactive material labels, and is enclosed in the proper, protective case. FINSA says that as long as the equipment is not opened, there is no risk to the public. The investigation is still ongoing.
