A radioactive tablet was lost in a petroleum well operated by Total Austral, an industrial gas and oil firm in the Aguada Pichana deposit in Argentina. The incident occurred while Halliburton contractors performed logging and radiography drilling work in the deposit. The firm has been attempting to 'fish' the tablet out of the well for approximately one week, actively pursuing efforts to recover the device which is widely used in well-logging activities and X-rays used to identify the characteristics in rocks.
