On 25 June 2024, in Don village (Toungup township, Thandwe district, Rakhine state), a man and a woman stepped on a landmine planted by the Myanmar military while they were collecting vegetables in a forest near the Karuna dam at around 9 am. The man lost his right leg, while the woman lost both legs.
