On 26 June 2024, in Hseng Taung village (coded as Hseng Taung (Ywar Haung)) (Hpakant township, Mohnyin district, Kachin state), a combined force of the KIA and the Kachin Region People's Defense Force attacked the Hseng Taung police station with bombs attached to drones in the morning while Myanmar military troops and police were having a meeting. 10 military troops and police, including a police battalion commander, were killed, and six others sustained injuries. According to Kachin News Group, two of the injured soldiers later died at a hospital. Fatalities coded as 12, using the latest report.
