The Straits Times understands that the relic was found at the construction site of the future Teck Ghee MRT station near the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. In response to queries from ST on June 29, the police said they worked with the Singapore Armed Forces’ (SAF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit, and the item was found to be a WWII unexploded ordnance. It was assessed to be safe for handling and has been moved away for disposal, said the police No danger was posed to the public, the police added. In September 2023, a 100kg WWII bomb, found at a construction site in Upper Bukit Timah, was detonated twice by the SAF’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team.
