Around 25 May 2024 (weekend of), an unidentified armed group (likely Fano militias, due to their involvement in related incidents) threw multiple grenades at the same time in four different locations in Dessie town, Dessie (North Wello, Amhara). The military camp in the Gerado locality was one of the targets of the attack. An unknown number of regional police members were killed in the attack. In addition, Segno Gebeya, Hottie, Ager Gizat, and Arategna Police Stations were hit by the grenade attack. No group claimed responsibility. Unspecified number of fatalities coded as 3.
