Missile event in Yemen on Sat 25th May 2024

On 25 May 2024, at around 3:50 am Sanaa time, Houthi forces fired 2 anti-ship ballistic missiles targeting the Minerva Lisa crude oil tanker (IMO: 9276597) in the South Red Sea claiming affiliation with companies in violation of the Houthi ban to call at Israeli ports. There were no fatalities or injuries as the missiles likely impacted the water. Houthi forces claimed the attack on 27 May without specifying the date of the attack although it corresponded to a CENTCOM report on 25 May. The ship departed the Saudi port of Jizan in the South Red Sea in the evening of 24 May for the Egyptian port of Sukhnah in the North Red Sea.
