On 26 May 2024, in Kyaikmaraw township (Mawlamyine district, Mon state), the Myanmar military LIB - 208 based in Kyaikmaraw town fired 60 mm heavy weapons around 11:30 am and fired 105 mm heavy weapons two times around 2:45 pm into an area where the combined troops of the Galon Column and the Mon Liberation Army troops were conducting a security check. Some artillery shells landed on the roads, damaging nearby houses. A local was injured.
