On 28 May 2024, in Oke Shit Khin (West) village (Phyu township, Taungoo district, Bago-East region), two artillery shells fired by the military landed in the village at around 5 pm. A 60-year-old woman, an 18-year-old woman, and a one-year-old child were killed, and five others, including a four-year-old child, sustained injuries. According to DVB, Mizzima and RFA, the artillery shells were fired by the Myanmar military (LIB-439) and the military stationed in Goke village, while the military propaganda media channels claimed that the KNLA and the PDF were responsible for the attack.
