Around 28 May 2024 (as reported), an IED suspected to have been planted by Boko Haram (JAS) exploded and killed a CJTF member after stepping on the landmine in Damboa LGA, coded to Damboa (Borno). The device was triggered while on patrol along Maiduguri-Damboa Road, injuring four others.
