Around 28 May 2024 (between 27 - 29 May), Houthi forces claimed a drone and missile attack targeting the Alba bulk carrier (IMO: 9493755) in the Arabian Sea (coded to West Arabian Sea) claiming US affiliation of the ship and affiliation with companies in violation of the Houthi ban to call at Israeli ports. There were no fatalities or injuries as the missiles likely impacted the water. The attack was not confirmed by other sources. Houthi forces claimed the attack on 29 May without specifying the date of the attack in a statement covering 27 - 29 May. The ship departed the UAE on 26 May sailing through the Arabian Sea and headed to Algeria. The US affiliation of the ship was not verified.
