On 4 June 2024, in Sin Gaung village (Thandwe township, Thandwe district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military launched airstrikes on the village with a Y12 plane and fighter jets without an armed clash occurring from 2 pm to 4 pm. The military also fired heavy weapons from navy ships and military outposts near Thandwe town. Some houses were also destroyed. Locals were forced to flee due to the airstrike. DVB reported that 3 women were killed and at least nine locals were severely injured. Narinjara News reported that nearly 100 locals were killed, and 64 of the bodies were buried. According to RFA, Khit Thit Media and Mizzima as of 11 June, the Arakan Army reported that 14 local civilians including two children and four women were killed, and another 24 were injured. Fatalities coded as 14, using the lastest estimate.
