On 4 June 2024, in Kan Myint Kone village (Myaing township, Pakokku district, Magway region), the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike and dropped two 200-lb bombs at the Ywar Oo monastery where people were taking shelter around 9 am. 3 women and an 8-year-old boy were killed on the spot and a girl who was a 5th grade student also died with injuries on the morning of 5th June. 15 locals including the elderly and children were severely injured. Separately, the military fired heavy weapons toward the village cemetery twice around 4 pm while locals were burying the bodies.
