On 6 June 2024, in Ahr Lar Kat Pa village (Myinmu township, Sagaing district, Sagaing region), a mine explosion occurred when the Myanmar military troops abducted locals and forced them to clear landmines that were planted by local PDF troops near the Shwe Gu Gyi monastery. A 43-year-old man was killed and 2 locals were severely injured due to the landmine explosion.
