On 8 June 2024, in Nyaung Pin Te village (Monywa township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), the military conducted airstrikes by dropping two 500lb bombs on the village school where local defense forces were holding a meeting at around 4 pm, killing two members of the local defense forces and injuring another two. Consecutively, the military from Kyauk Sit Pon village fired artillery rounds on the village.
