8th June 2024
On 8 June 2024, at around 11:00 pm Sanaa time, Houthi forces fired at least 1 anti-ship ballistic/cruise missile targeting the Norderney general cargo ship (IMO: 9506124) in the Gulf of Aden around 80 nm southeast of Aden claiming affiliation with companies in violation of the Houthi ban to call at Israeli ports. There were no fatalities or injuries although the missile struck the ship and started a small fire onboard. The ship was targeted and struck twice on 8 and 9 June, once with an anti-ship ballistic missile and once with an anti-ship cruise missile, but it is unclear which missile was used on which day.
