On 9 June 2024, in Har Bi (Middle) village (Maungdaw township, Maungdaw district, Rakhine state), heavy artillery shells fired by the Myanmar military troops stationed near a stream near Gon Nar village and border guard troops from the No.5 Border Guard Police Battalion landed in the village. Khit Thit Media and Narinjara News reported that five local people including women and children were killed, and eight others were injured. Radio Free Asia reported that a Rohingya family of three were killed, and six other Rohingya locals were injured. Fatalities coded as 3, using the lowest estimate.
