Missile event in Yemen on Thu 13th June 2024
13th June 2024
On 13 June 2024, around 2:30 pm Sanaa time, Houthi forces fire at least 2 anti-ship ballistic missiles likely targeting the Seaguardian bulk carrier (IMO: 9174268) in the South Red Sea around 82 nm northwest of Al Hudaydah claiming affiliation with companies in violation of the Houthi ban to call at Israeli ports. There were no fatalities or injuries as 1 of the missiles exploded in close proximity of the ship and the other one likely further away. Houthi forces targeted the ship possibly because of its affiliation with Greece-based company Eastern Mediterranean Maritime, which had other ships affiliated to it dock at Israeli ports in early May.
