On 19 June 2024, in Loi Keng village (Pinlaung township, Pa-O Self-Administered Zone, Shan-South state), the Myanmar military and the Pa-Oh National Army conducted drone strikes and fired artillery rounds on the village monastery. Khit Thit and Shan Herald Agency for News reported that a 39-year-old monk was killed and 5 other locals were injured. DVB and RFA reported that a Buddhist monk was killed, and four IDPs, including two children, were injured.
