On 19 June 2024, in Chaung-U township (Monywa district, Sagaing region), the Area 71 Defense Force (Monywa) carried out a mine attack against the Myanmar military soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members who were clearing mines, wearing civilian clothes on Monywa - Chaung-U road at around 8 am. MPA and Khit Thit Media reported that the mine explosion killed three military soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members. Mizzima reported that six members of Pyu Saw Htee died in the mine attack. Fatalities coded as 3, using the lowest estimate.
