On 30 November 2020, Al Shabaab militants carried out a mortar shell attack against a government security forces (SNA) defensive base at the airstrip of Baraawe town (Baraawe, Lower Shabelle). The militants fired several mortar shells at the airstrip after a cargo aircraft (reportedly carrying supplies for AU forces) took off from the airstrip. No fatalities and/or injuries reported.
