During the monitoring of the scrap metal prepared for export, LAEC on field inspectors found a high reading on one of the trucks. Upon reloading of the truck, a radioactive source was found to be identified as Cs-137. The source was shielded and safely transported to LAEC for further investigations in the laboratories. LAb analysis confirmed that the source is Cs-137 and that the activity of the source is estimated to be 120 microCi.
