At least five Pakistani soldiers were killed in the central #Kurram district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, likely by the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan or #TTP.

The extensive damage to the vehicle in the image suggests it was targeted by a high-explosive device, likely an anti-tank mine or an improvised explosive device (IED).

However, claims by @Defence_PK99 and @NepCorres that anti-tank land mines were used and that the US and NATO provided these mines to the former Afghan National Army (ANA) are unfounded.

There is no public record or evidence to suggest that NATO or the US transferred anti-tank land mines to #Afghanistan. However, anti-personnel and anti-tank land mines from the Soviet period remain widely available in the region; therefore, armed groups have accessed them significantly.

The image shared shows US-made M15 anti-tank land mines, which are primarily "track-breakers" designed to immobilise vehicles but can cause severe damage to light or unarmoured vehicles such as trucks.
